Questions
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, connecting a mailbox, starting a trial, or otherwise using InboxWarden (the Service), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use InboxWarden on behalf of a business or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms and must provide accurate account information when connecting a mailbox.
2. Service description
InboxWarden is a software service that helps users screen inbound email by quarantining messages from unknown senders, surfacing digest summaries, and applying trust rules across supported IMAP mailbox providers including Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL, iCloud, Fastmail, and custom IMAP-compatible accounts.
To run the Service, InboxWarden may create labels or folders, install provider-side filters or rules, maintain IMAP sync state, move messages, and send transactional emails related to quarantine or billing flows. InboxWarden is not a backup, archive, or guaranteed anti-malware service.
3. Mailbox permissions and provider access
When you connect a mailbox, you provide the IMAP credentials or app password needed to let InboxWarden monitor the mailbox and manage the folders or rules required for quarantine workflows. Those credentials are encrypted at rest.
You are responsible for making sure you are authorized to connect each mailbox you add. Disconnecting a mailbox removes InboxWarden's locally stored credentials and mailbox state for that connection.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. That includes, without limitation:
- using InboxWarden in violation of applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights;
- attempting to gain unauthorized access to another user's account, mailbox, data, or systems;
- interfering with or disrupting the integrity, performance, or security of the Service;
- using the Service to facilitate spam, phishing, harassment, malware, or other abusive conduct; or
- copying, reverse engineering, scraping, or exploiting the Service beyond what is expressly permitted by law.
5. Billing, trials, and renewals
InboxWarden currently offers a 14-day free trial. After the trial ends, paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Pricing is based on the number of protected mailboxes and any subscription terms shown during checkout or in the billing area.
If you add or remove mailboxes during a billing cycle, charges may be adjusted on a prorated basis. You may cancel at any time, and cancellation will stop future renewals at the end of the then-current billing period unless otherwise stated at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider we designate.
6. Service availability, suspension, and termination
The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We aim for reliable operation, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect classification, or fail-proof delivery outcomes. InboxWarden includes safety-valve and failsafe mechanisms intended to reduce the chance of inappropriate quarantine or missed mail, but no automated email workflow is error-free. You should monitor your quarantined messages and maintain any additional security controls you consider appropriate.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the Service or other users, fail to pay applicable fees, or if continued service is no longer commercially or legally practical. You may stop using the Service and disconnect your mailbox at any time.
7. Data handling on disconnect
When you disconnect a mailbox, InboxWarden deletes stored IMAP credentials for that connection along with associated trust rules, analysis suggestions, and stored message records for that mailbox.
Some inbox, account, billing, and audit records may remain after disconnect so we can preserve service integrity, investigate misuse, maintain financial records, and satisfy legal obligations. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
8. Disclaimers, liability, changes, and contact
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. InboxWarden will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or business opportunities arising out of or related to the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, InboxWarden's aggregate liability for all claims arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid to InboxWarden in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@inboxwarden.com.
